We strongly advise that a child establish a “dental home” by age one, which is also recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.  A good rule of thumb is to take your child to the dentist by his/her first birthday or when the first tooth appears, whichever comes first.
